This artwork made with acrylic paint on a 80x80cm. canvas represents the Covid-19 virus.

The title, Homo Homini Lupus means: "a human is a wolf to another human" and is a philosophical theory stated by Thomas Hobbes in 1651. Thanks to Herr Neuwerk, my philosophy teacher for this awesome lesson ;).

I painted this painting the day my quarantine started. All of a sudden, I had to stay home for 2 weeks straight because a friend of mine was infected with Corona. I had to cancell everything that I planned for the near future, was scared to be infected too and a black cloud fell all over me. I felt like shit and I gave the virus the responsibility for it. I painted it like I feel it is, as an evil being. However, I am not sure that the virus is the evil one here, I rather feel like the cause for our current down feelings are other humans.

I love the title of this painting and I really believe in it. We are not only a wolf to ourselves, but also to everything else that lives or resides on this planet.
